Roberto De Zerbi faces his inaugural Premier League media obligations of the campaign on Friday, with numerous subjects requiring discussion.

The Tottenham head coach must address multiple matters during his opening press conference of the Premier League season on Friday afternoon.

Spurs begin their new season with a visit to Brentford on Saturday but new arrivals could be confirmed before then as the club races to secure Savinho from Manchester City in a package worth £75million plus an additional £10million in performance-related clauses. The north London club are attempting to arrange a two-player switch from the Citizens with discussions progressing for Egypt international Omar Marmoush.

This would deliver two further additions to De Zerbi’s shopping list and take summer arrivals to eight, with the exits of captain Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Guglielmo Vicario forming part of the restructuring.

With Romero having departed, De Zerbi must appoint a successor as captain and may unveil that decision during Friday’s media duties alongside addressing any outstanding business in the transfer market.

The Italian will also give news on the squad members returning from injury, including Mohammed Kudus, who appears to have returned home to Ghana this week for personal reasons, Dejan Kulusevski and Micky van de Ven, who has not featured at all during pre-season preparations.

Our Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold is among those putting the questions to De Zerbi. Scroll down for his latest updates from the press conference at Hotspur Way.
