Tottenham Hotspur have shifted their focus to the offensive area of the pitch, with Manchester City attacker Savinho among their summer recruitment objectives.
Tottenham Hotspur have been among the Premier League’s most active clubs this close season and there are more moves to come. Expensive acquisitions of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes set the early tone as Roberto De Zerbi targets significant improvements.
De Zerbi’s team have already invested over £230million on Tonali, Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke. They have also secured Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers to strengthen a rearguard that did not always perform consistently last season.
The next focus is a wide player, with Savinho and Cody Gakpo among those under consideration. Manchester City attacker Savinho was also pursued last summer and the interest has continued despite a managerial change.
Further player departures are also expected. Large amounts have been generated through the departures of Luka Vuskovic, Cristian Romero and Djed Spence, with additional funds potentially still to come in.

Tottenham Hotspur are close to a significant financial boost – courtesy of a sell-on clause as part of Troy Parrott’s transfer to AZ Alkmaar in 2024. Spurs agreed to a reported 20 per cent sell-on as part of that £6.7million move to the Eredivisie.
The Republic of Ireland international has performed well since moving to the Netherlands, finding the net 10 times in his opening seven matches before a knee ligament problem in August kept him sidelined until October.

Guglielmo Vicario has shared an emotional message with Tottenham supporters after finalising his loan switch to Juventus. The goalkeeper completed his loan move on Tuesday with an option for Juventus to sign the goalkeeper permanently for £8.5million.
On Instagram, he addressed Spurs fans with gratitude, noting how they made him feel welcomed from the moment he arrived. He described playing in the Premier League for a huge club as a dream and said Tottenham will forever have a special place in his heart and memories. He thanked the club, staff and teammates from his years there, adding that winning the Europa League together and seeing the joy they gave fans is a memory he will always be proud of. He wished the club good luck for the exciting season ahead.

A new season provides an opportunity for Tottenham players currently out on loan to make an impression.
Guglielmo Vicario has now completed his switch to Juventus, with a £8.5million purchase option should he impress in Turin this season. Meanwhile, Spurs have already sent seven players out on loan with more expected before the transfer deadline.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is being connected with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
The Bayern Munich forward has entered the final 12 months of his contract and there has been speculation about whether Kane will sign an extension. The England captain’s representatives have reportedly held discussions with Al Hilal regarding a potential move in the future.
However, Kane is not interested in a move to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career, with contract discussions pending at Bayern Munich.

Spurs sporting director Johan Lange has considerable work ahead before transfer deadline day. Tottenham Hotspur have spent almost £240million on new players while recouping approximately £140m from sales, but there is still business to conduct.
Manager Roberto De Zerbi clearly expressed his desire to essentially rebuild the squad. Lange responded by making several early signings, including high-profile deals for Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.

Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has completed a season-long loan move to Juventus. The agreement includes an option for the Italian club to make the move permanent next summer.
The Tottenham Hotspur player signed from Empoli in 2023 and has made 117 total appearances for the club. However, Vicario lost his position to Antonin Kinsky towards the end of last season.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Djed Spence’s Tottenham departure could have implications for Destiny Udogie’s future.
Spence, part of England’s World Cup squad, has completed a permanent move to Inter Milan.
This has cast doubt on the possibility of a loan exit for Italian left-back Udogie, who has attracted interest from Roma.
In case you missed it yesterday, TeamTalk reported that Cody Gakpo was fully convinced of the merits of a Tottenham move by Roberto De Zerbi.
The Dutchman’s adaptability is said to be valued by the Italian coach.
Questions remain about a transfer fee for the Liverpool player, while the Reds continue to pursue attacking additions of their own.
Tottenham’s connections with Savinho come in a week which could see Manchester City lose three senior players.
Rodri has arrived in Barcelona ahead of a move to La Liga while Fabrizio Romano reports that Tijjani Reijnders is in Saudi Arabia to finalise his move to Al Qadsiah.
Those two sales, if accompanied by Savinho joining Spurs, could net City close to £200million.
Former Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has encouraged the club to sign Victor Osimhen.
The Belgian told Hajper that Spurs could use a striker like Victor Osimhen, noting they need his goals because it is what they lacked last season as well.
Richarlison finished last season as Tottenham’s top Premier League scorer with 11 goals but was the only member of the squad to find the net more than five times in the competition.
According to FourFourTwo, UEFA’s 45 day rule could be behind Newcastle’s connections with Lucas Bergvall becoming less prominent.
The rule is designed to classify transfers between two clubs as a swap for accounting purposes if they occur within 45 days of one another.
This would affect Sandro Tonali’s move from Newcastle to Tottenham, were Bergvall to move in the opposite direction within 45 days.
The period in question ends on August 20, so there might be some activity towards the end of this week.
Tottenham will begin their Premier League season away at Brentford and the Bees could be a stronger outfit by then.
Keith Andrews’ team are believed to be close to a £40m move for El-Hadji Malick Diouf.

However, according to Sky Deutschland, the Tyneside club are now interested in Nicolas Siewald and this has been interpreted by some as a sign their Palhinha hopes are diminishing.
Former Spurs loanee Palhinha will not be returning to North London next term after the Londoners decided against making the deal permanent.
According to Liverpool.com, Chelsea’s substantial asking price for Pedro Neto could prompt Liverpool to increase their own demands for Cody Gakpo.
The Reds are thought to want around £70m for Gakpo, less than the £100m Chelsea are asking for amid interest in their Portuguese star.
Gakpo, 27, has scored 50 goals in 180 Liverpool games and remains a goal threat from a wide position.
The figures behind Tottenham’s summer transfer business are certainly eye-catching.
As well as the £237m in expenditure, they could raise as much as £213m in sales.

Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti has been full of praise for incoming goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
Spalletti, as translated by Football Italia, described Vicario as a mature, intelligent, professional player with pedigree. He noted Vicario is one of those players who thinks about the sport even when he goes home in his spare time. Spalletti said there are others who take their profession more lightly, but Vicario is one of those he likes who is committed and has had the right growth process. He expressed uncertainty about why Vicario was probably deprived of something in the last year that meant he was unable to perform, but maintained he remains a top goalkeeper.
Spurs have been monitoring the situation amid suggestions Bayer Leverkusen could be ready to sell Edmond Tapsoba, according to reports in Germany.
Manchester United and Newcastle have also been connected with the Burkinabe centre-back.
However, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham would move for the £43m-rated defender this summer given their priorities elsewhere on the pitch.
Chelsea want a substantial £100million for Tottenham-linked winger Pedro Neto, according to The Mail.
The Portugal international has also attracted interest from the likes of Manchester City and Al Hilal.
But the Blues will not let him leave unless it is for a significant profit on the £54m they paid Wolves for his services in 2024.
Savinho’s absence from the Manchester City squad for the Community Shield raised questions amid Tottenham’s interest.
However, City boss Enzo Maresca had earlier stated the Brazilian was unwell.
Maresca explained in the lead-up to the game in Cardiff that Savinho was not part of the session on Thursday because he was a little bit ill. He said they would see how he was during the afternoon session and would decide whether he was available for the match against Arsenal.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo could move as part of a significant end to the summer window for the Reds.
Spurs remain one of the potential suitors for Gakpo, who played for the Netherlands at the World Cup.
The connections come as Liverpool remain keen on a big-money move of their own for Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola, with a Gakpo exit potentially opening the door to a further addition at Anfield.
