Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has emerged as a priority target for Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal, according to emerging reports.
The England captain’s position at the Bundesliga club continues to be the subject of widespread discussion, with the forward’s stance on a potential switch to the Middle East now coming to light. Kane departed Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 for a fee reported to be in the region of £100million, and is now heading into his fourth campaign with the German champions.
The 33-year-old featured in Gareth Southgate’s side that progressed to the World Cup semi-finals and only recently rejoined his club colleagues following an extended break over the summer months.
Kane’s current terms at the Allianz Arena are due to expire in twelve months’ time, and uncertainty persists regarding whether the marksman will commit his future to the Bavarian club beyond that point.
Speculation linking the former Spurs favourite with a move to the Saudi Pro League has circulated for some time, and fresh information has now surfaced regarding his prospects.
Sources indicate Kane’s representatives have conducted conversations with Al Hilal about a possible transfer, although it remains ambiguous whether any deal would occur before this season concludes or once his existing agreement reaches its conclusion in a year’s time.
Al Hilal have identified Kane as their primary option to strengthen their attacking options, a list reportedly also including Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen and England team-mate Ollie Watkins, who plies his trade at Aston Villa.
Nevertheless, the Three Lions skipper has reportedly shown little appetite for relocating to Saudi Arabia at this particular juncture in his career, with negotiations over fresh terms at Bayern anticipated shortly.
Amid ongoing conjecture about Kane’s next move, the forward recently addressed his contractual position at Bayern, saying he felt calm about the situation.
According to reports from Kicker, Kane said last month that discussions were scheduled to commence following the World Cup and his holiday period, with the timeline for those conversations still uncertain. He indicated talks would begin either that week or the next, noting that both he and the club were approaching the matter calmly. With only twelve months remaining on his current deal, Kane emphasised the importance of beginning those discussions while expressing confidence that formal talks would get underway shortly.
