Richarlison has addressed supporters on social media regarding the failed transfer to Vasco da Gama from Tottenham Hotspur.
According to reports, Spurs had reached an agreement with the Brazilian club for the 29-year-old forward, though Vasco da Gama were unable to finalise personal terms with the player.
The forward confirmed that negotiations had progressed but ultimately collapsed due to the Premier League club’s restrictions on outgoing loans.
He expressed gratitude to the club’s supporters while acknowledging the unsuccessful nature of the discussions.
Richarlison had been seeking a departure ahead of the September 1 closure of the English transfer window.
A potential emotional return to former club Everton was explored but collapsed in the final moments before the deadline.
Simultaneously, Turkish side Trabzonspor submitted substantial offers of £15million and £20million for the forward, yet no agreement was reached.
Following participation in Thursday’s first-team training session, the player’s exclusion from Premier League matchday squads means he will be ineligible to feature until January at the earliest.
