Turkish window open until Friday as Trabzonspor show late Richarlison interest

Tottenham have been presented with an alternative avenue to offload Richarlison after their proposed deal to send the Brazilian back to Everton fell through.

The Turkish Super Lig transfer window remains accessible until Friday, presenting Spurs with a potential solution to move the forward before the European windows closed.

Trabzonspor have emerged as late contenders for Richarlison’s signature, according to reports.

The Istanbul-based club have been active in the market this summer, previously securing the signings of former Liverpool players including Mohamed Salah and Fabinho.

Richarlison was absent from Tottenham’s matchday squad for their encounter with Newcastle the previous week.

The forward communicated his desire to leave on multiple occasions directly to Roberto De Zerbi, according to the Italian coach.

The 27-year-old was present at the St James’ Park fixture, occupying a seat in the directors’ box alongside Brazil national team manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Following that attendance, speculation mounted regarding a potential Goodison Park comeback.

Tottenham had reportedly reached a separate agreement to acquire Iliman Ndiaye from Everton as part of the proposed arrangement.

However, Richarlison hesitated over the personal terms, causing negotiations to stall.

Everton subsequently sold Ndiaye to Manchester City after the Etihad Stadium club missed out on Liverpool wide player Cody Gakpo.

Richarlison’s existing contractual commitment at Tottenham extends until 2027, though the club retain an optional 12-month extension clause.

Despite the collapsed Everton talks, the player could still secure a north London exit either to Turkey or Saudi Arabia before the window closes.

Spurs have been busy reshaping their attacking options throughout the summer months, completing ten new signings.

Forward additions included Savinho, Omar Marmoush and Mykhailo Mudryk, who joined on a season-long loan from Chelsea on the final day of the English transfer period.

Should Richarlison remain at the club, he faces intensified competition for regular starting berths.

His prospects appeared bleak following a disappointing display in Tottenham’s season-opening 3-0 Premier League loss at Brentford.
